What People Are Saying

“Thank you, Leah, for expanding my world. I am deeply grateful for what you are doing and thank you for helping me accept my first steps in the self-pleasure journey.”

— Natàlia

“The best thing since compostable vibrators! I have only experienced shame, ego and stereotyping centred conversation around these topics before. Leah is honest and inclusive with a hint of humour throughout which makes for easy listening and learning and unlearning. I wish someone half as inclusive and educated as Leah was around when I was younger.”

— Amanda

“I appreciate your work. The way you approach the topic is so refreshing and engaging. You’re helping me feel safe, learn about self love and find the joy in something that has given me lots of anxiety. Thank you for that!!”

— Ashley

“I have to say, Leah, a huge part of it is your personality in making us all feel valued and welcome and…you’re really great.”

— Penny

I am so glad there is people like you out there normalizing speaking about sex and sexual health! I remember just recently periods was a taboo topic and there is still lots of people ashamed to speak about it! AND PERIODS ARE SO NORMAL! So is sex and sexual health topics! Love you xxx

My Favourite Sex Books!

  • Let's Talk About It: The Teen's Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human

By Erika Moen and Matthew Nolan.

More than guide for just teens. An essential book on my bookshelf that reads like a graphic novel. I have gifted this to many people and just keep buying copies for myself cause it’s worth it.

  • Come As You Are

    By Dr. Emily Nagoski.

A must read, particularly for folks with vulvas. To sum it up, it’s all about context!

  • Polysecure: Attachment, Trauma and Consensual Non-Monogamy

    By Jessica Fern.

For folks in any type of relationship, this is the book to better understand yourself and your attachment style. I quote from it constantly.

  • Queer Sex: A Trans and Non-Binary Guide to Intimacy, Pleasure and Relationships

    By Juno Roche.

Intimate storytelling as Roche discusses sex, desire and dating with leading figures from the trans and non-binary community.

  • Girls & Sex

    By Peggy Orenstein.

Explores the realities of growing up in America as a young woman. Like the persistent myth that says you’re either a slut or a prude (which isn’t true!)

  • Boys & Sex

    By Peggy Orenstein.

Explores the realities of growing up as a young man in America. Particular focus on porn, pressure for sexual “conquests” and patriarchal masculinity.

  • I’m Afraid of Men

    By Vivek Shraya.

Beautiful and heart-wrenching read. “Explores how masculinity was imposed on her as a boy and continues to haunt her as a girl—and how we might reimagine gender for the twenty-first century.”

  • Sovereign Erotics: A Collection of Two-Spirit Literature

By Qwo-Li Driskill, Daniel Heath Justice, & Deborah Miranda.

Powerful collection of Two-Spirit writing and stories.

  • Cunt: A Declaration of Independence

    By Inga Muscio.

An oldie but a goodie. Highly recommend the 20th anniversary edition which has been updated to be more inclusive.

  • The Ethical Slut (3rd Edition)

By Janet W. Hardy and Dossie Easton.

One of the first texts about polyamory and consensual non-monogamy. Still an excellent resource but read with a grain a salt.

  • The Vagina Bible

    By Dr. Jennifer Gunter.

My mother bought this for me and I thank her all the time for it. Everyone with a vulva or anyone who knows someone with a vulva (ahem, all of us) should read this book.

  • The State of Affairs

    By Esther Perel.

Why do we cheat? And why is it so common? Excellent look at relationship styles based on the stories of Perel’s clients over several years.

  • Opening Up

    By Tristan Taormino.

Important read for anyone exploring consensual non-monogamy or polyamory. Really, for anyone who wants to communicate more effectively in their relationships.

  • Full Metal Indigiqueer

    By Joshua Whitehead.

Powerful collection of poetry by Whitehead, Oji-Cree, Two-Spirit member of the Peguis First Nation.

“Using binary code and texts from classics of the English language such as Edmund Spenser's The Faerie Queene, Joshua Whitehead unravels the coded "I" to trace the formation of a colonized self and reclaim representations of Indigenous texts.”

  • Mating in Captivity

    By Esther Perel.

Great insight into how we form relationships and the often unspoken expectations we have of monogamy.
